The Garage Fiction Podcast was founded in 2015 by three authors (Nicholas, Dogwood, and Jinn) to write fiction based on Dave Grohl's philosophy of getting in the garage to just make some noisy-ass shit:
"Musicians should go to a yard sale and buy an old fucking drum set and get in their garage and just suck. And get their friends to come in and they’ll suck, too. And then they’ll fucking start playing and they’ll have the best time they’ve ever had in their lives and then all of a sudden they’ll become Nirvana. Just a bunch of guys that had some shitty old instruments and they got together and started playing some noisy-ass shit, and they became the biggest band in the world."
After several roster changes over the years (including a 2017-2022 hiatus), Garage Fiction is now four authors:
Bryan Cheyne
Bryan lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada, with his entrepreneur wife, Kristen, and his cat, Malachyte. An avid fantasy and sci-fi fan, he aspires to create the kinds of stories that resonate with readers and writers alike, and that reflect the humanity in us all.
Olivia Hofer
Olivia is a Swiss lesbian, who likes fiction in all forms. She's currently trying to figure out her life, a thing she thinks she should have done a long time ago. But in the meantime, she writes mostly science fiction and fantasy while traveling in order to pet as many dogs as possible. Her website is here.
L.L. MacRae
Lauren is a fantasy author of character-driven stories and epic adventure. Her books usually contain dragons, bucket-loads of magic, and are typically fun and hopeful.She lives in a tiny village in the English countryside, has a degree in Psychology, and was a copywriter before going full-time as an author—swapping corporate copy for magic and dragons! Jinn Zhong
Jinn is a paper fox wandering the suburban wilds of the Pacific Northwest. He writes mostly SFF fiction and is currently obsessed with the Renaissance and Reformation in the 16th century. Get his updates here.
